CHORD-talk-in-interaction closing workshop: Project results and future perspectives
This hybrid event will close the project “Data-sharing skills in corpus-based research on talk-in-interaction”. The project's objective was to gain a better understanding of current practices of sharing and reusing audio/video recordings and transcripts of talk-in-interaction, to explore the opportunities and challenges of FAIR data-sharing in the fields of fundamental and applied research and to understand the future needs in the Swiss context. To approach this goal, the project team organised a series of hybrid workshops with corpus owners, experts from corpus hosting institutions, and scholars working with sensitive data in collaborative research projects.
The aim of this closing event is to present the findings of the project, to assess current practices of sharing and reusing research data under consideration of their technical environments in the concerned linguistic fields, to discuss the infrastructure needed in Switzerland to manage audio/video-recorded and transcribed data of naturally occurring interaction, and to lead a panel discussion on future training needs. The project members will develop these topics together with two discussants and the workshop participants are invited to share their experience in several discussion rounds.
The event is organised by Johanna Miecznikowski (USI) and Nina Profazi (USI) on behalf of CHORD-talk-in-interaction. It takes place at USI Università della Svizzera italiana on Monday, September 16th, 2024, 13:30h – 17:30h. The event can be attended in person and via Zoom.
